Butterflies!

Back in this post- you will have seen that we have recently renovated parts of our house since we moved in!  To finish it off, I treated us to our first piece of "art!"  This was somewhat of a risk as I had never EVER seen the artist for "real" but seen her work in Ideal Home a couple of times, and also on the web and fallen in Love.  I plunged in and commissioned a piece I had fallen in love with...and have been waiting with baited breath ever since (some 5 weeks ago)

Well....today it arrived!!!  ...and I am SO SO SO PLEASED.

Colour is a little washed out - due to the snowy conditions! - this wall is actually quite green!

It is called "The one that got away"...see the little pink rascal top right?

All in situ above the new fireplace!
This is by an artist called Cissy Cook - and I am so happy!

Thanks Alex. Yes - they are all set on little wooden plinths! All I have done this evening after the fire was lit - is sat and taken little glimpses!

From only knowing you through your Mom and your blog, I believe that the butterflies are absolutely perfect for your house. Love the 3D effect. How wonderful to have so much color in your living room at this gray time of year!

Such a beautiful piece of art, what a great find ! I'd love to sit and admire it for hours on end - and your room looks so cosy and inviting too!
